Liaoning Snaps Beijing Home Winning Streak in CBA

Liaoning Hunters edged Beijing Ducks on Wednesday 71-69 to snap Beijing's ninth straight home winning streak at the Chinese Basketball Association league.

Liaoning, who beat Beijing 82-79 in their first meet on November 28 last year at home, promoted to third place in the team standings with a 9-5 record.

In Nanjing, Defending champions Bayi Rockets became the only team to keep home win as they overcame a 53-57 halftime trail to trounce Jiangsu Dragons 123-98 in a road game. Bayi now is 14-1 including eight home wins.

In Jinan, Shandong Bulls avenged their last defeat to nip Vanguard Aoshen 103-93 at home, giving their veteran coach Ye Nan a second straight win since he replaced his former position Ma Lianmin.

Shandong lost to Vanguard Aoshen 90-100 in their last meet last month in Jingjiang, Fujian Province. Now Bulls is fourth in the standing at an identical record 8-6 with Beijing and Jiangsu.

In Shanghai, Guangdong Hongyuan surprised Shanghai Sharks 92-87,reseating its second place chair of the league with a 10-4 record.While Shanghai (9-5) shares third spot with liaoning.

In Changchun, Jilin Northeast Tigers downed Hubei Mei'erya 102-91, while Zhejing Cyclone beat Nanjing Army 112-95 in Hangzhou. (Xinhua)
