China Strongly Condemns Hijacking of Indian Plane

China firmly opposes and strongly condemns any form of terrorism including the hijacking of an Indian airline's plane, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Zhang Qiyue said in Beijing on December 28.

Zhang said in a regular press conference that China has closely followed the development of the incident, and wishes the incident be resolved as soon as possible.

She stressed that China's anti-terrorism stance has been consistent and clear that it firmly opposes and strongly condemns terrorism in any form.

The plane was hijacked on its route from Kathmandu, Nepal, to New Delhi last Friday. It landed in the Afghan city of Kandahar early Saturday, with 161 passengers and crew still on board.
