Construction of an information industry park of Haier, one of China's leading producers of home appliances, was completed on December 25 in Qingdao, a coastal city in east China's Shandong Province.

The park, China's largest and most advanced information product research and development base, covers an area of 10.67 ha. Work on the park began in August 1998. Whole project of the park which is adjacent to the group's industrial development park will be finished in three years. The information industry park is the country's sole large-screen digital color TV production base and the industrial development park focuses its development on dish-washers, air-conditioners for commercial use and robots for industrial use.
