Computer imports in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, rose sharply. According to local customs statistics, imports reached 15,000 units in the first 11 months of the year, 4.5 times more than the same period last year. Laptops and compact computers accounted for 97.6 percent of the imports. Small computers and laptops both recorded double-digit growth over the same period last year. The rise in import can be attributed to a boom in e-commerce and higher level of automation in offices. |
