The mobile phone business has been growing fast in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and there are now more than 750,000 users in the region.

This means one out of every 50 people in Guangxi now has a mobile phone. Mobile phones are now within the reach of ordinary people, as local telecommunications departments have continuously lowered the prices for mobile phones, from more than 20,000 yuan to less than 2,000 yuan now.

Guangxi's mobile telecommunications now provide service to more than 40 countries. Statistics show that the state had invested more than 3.8 billion yuan in the construction of Guangxi's mobile phone network from 1992 to 1998.
