Picture Made of Fish Bone to Celebrate Macao's Return

A senior citizen in Tianjin has created a picture made of about 14,000 pieces of fish bones to mark Macao's return to China in six days.

Zhao Gang, 65, began making pictures by putting fish bones together after his retirement, and is believed to be the first to create fish bone picture. He has now completed more than 200 works, winning high praise from Chinese and overseas artists.

The 3.5 meters long and 0.8 meters wide picture for Macao consists of 50 flowers representing the 50th anniversary of the People's Republic of China, and a large blooming lotus at the center, symbolizing the return of Macao.

It costs Zhao more than four months and about 50 kilos of sea fish and freshwater fish in over 30 varieties to complete the picture. He said it will be presented to the compatriots in Macao.
