The Shanghai Encyclopedia, the first volume of its kind on China's leading industrial and commercial city, has been published by the Shanghai Science & Technology Press. The encyclopedia contains 5,730 entries with 2.3 million Chinese characters and more than 1,000 photographs. Local experts say it provides a full and accurate introduction to Shanghai's history, economy, finance, culture, education, science and technology, and other features. More than 800 experts and scholars took four years to compile the tome. |
