More than 1,200 university students in Guangzhou, the capital of south China's Guangdong Province participated in a long-distance running on December 11 to mark Macao's return to the motherland.

Waving national flags and flags of the Macao Special dministrative Region, students from 11 colleges and universities including Jinan University, Zhongshan University and Guangzhou Normal College, started at the city's sports center and ran 5.3 kilometers around the urban area.

Students from Macao who are studying in these universities were among the runners.
