The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) announced Wednesday that it will establish a modern library to house its documents and provide better service for scholars. The library, which will be situated close to CASS, is divided into several sections including periodicals, reference texts, a reading room, and a digital library. Chen Jiagui, vice president of CASS, said that the five million books of CASS had been distributed among its institutes, which has created difficulty for scholars in search of materials. CASS has over 3,000 research members and 30 research institutes and centers, with the Chinese history, philosophy, religion, archeology, language, literature, ethnic and economic development as its special research areas. |
