On December 8, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) presented diplomas and medals to units and individuals who made outstanding contributions to the launch of the country's first unmanned spacecraft in November.

Wei Jianxing, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee and president of the ACFTU, attended the ceremony and presented the awards.

The five units which received National May 1 Labor Diplomas include China Research Institute of Carrier Rocket Technology, Chinese Research Institute of Space Technology, Shanghai Research Institute of Astronautics Technology, and Space Chemical Dynamics Technology Institute, all under the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, and a group from the Ministry of Information Industry.

Five people from the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation received National May 1 Labor Medals.
