Visiting Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji said in Hanoi Friday that China is willing to help Vietnam in its economic course of overall development, readjustment of structure and improvement of performance. At a meeting with Du Moi, former secretary general of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and now the advisor to the CPV Central Committee, Zhu said China also wants to share experience and increase exchanges with Vietnam as a way to promote the bilateral cooperation. He said he had a good meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart Phan Van Khai Thursday and reached an agreement in principle on bilateral relations, especially on the development of economic and trade cooperation. Moi told Zhu that Vietnam will never forget the disinterested help rendered by China in the past. He said he was pleased and gratified to see the great achievements made by China in socialist construction and in its foreign affairs. At a separate meeting with Zhu earlier Friday, Nong Duc Manh, chairman of Vietnam's National Assembly, expressed his satisfaction with the rapid development of the bilateral relations between Vietnam and China in various fields. China's experience in reforms and economic construction is very important to Vietnam, and Vietnam's National Assembly will further increase its exchanges with the National People's Congress of China,he said. Zhu, who is on the third day of his four-day visit to Vietnam, said Vietnam has taken a right path of development and will achieve many successes. |
