Tianjin Lures Medium-sized, Small Overseas Firms

An investment park designed to create a more suitable environment for medium-sized and small overseas enterprises will be set up in this biggest port city of Tianjin in north China, according to Vice-Mayor Wang Shuzu.

In a recent seminar on the relationship between medium-sized and small enterprises and China's future economic development, Wan said that these particular foreign businesses will be able to flourish in the park, which will have an investment environment similar to those in foreign countries.

Currently preventing the medium-sized and small overseas enterprises from entering the Chinese market are lack of capital, concerns about technological infringement, the language barrier, different cultural backgrounds, and the general lack of awareness about China, Wan concluded.

The new park will help overseas businessmen solve capital shortages, simplify administrative procedures, provide construction assistance, and oversee office affairs and property security.

"Establishing the park is the simplest and most convenient way to get past all the obstacles faced by these enterprises, and the municipal government supports the idea of offering special service to them," Wan said.

Wan did not reveal the scale of the new park during the seminar. (Xinhua)
