World Jordanian King Starts Visit to Japan

Jordan's King Abdullah bin Hussein and Queen Rania arrived in Japan on November 30 for a five-day state visit to Japan.

Upon their arrival at Tokyo's Haneda airport, the Jordanian royal couple were welcomed by Japan's Crown Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako.

It is Abdullah's first visit to Japan since his coronation as Jordan's fourth king in February following the death of his father, King Hussein.

During his stay, Abdullah is expected to meet with Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko and hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi.
