Tianjin to Host Sino-ROK Technology and Commodity Exposition

A Sino-ROK Technology and Commodity Exposition is scheduled for December 1-4 in the port city in north China.

The exposition is to be co-sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, the municipal government of Tianjin, the China Science and Technology Exchange Center, and related organizations from the Republic of Korea (ROK).

More than 200 ROK business people from over 80 companies will attend the exposition, expected to be the largest of its kind for ROK entrepreneurs in China, demonstrating their products and technology, ranging from electric appliances, environmental equipment and automotive devices to light textiles, biomedicine, and food processing.

Some 50 Chinese companies will take part in the show and people from business and research circles in the cities of Beijing, Qingdao and Weihai will be organized into groups to attend the exposition. There they will have the opportunity to learn more about the latest technological developments at ROK companies.

An official from a ROK association for promoting small business said they expect the exposition to become an annual event.

Tianjin has developed close economic ties with ROK in recent years. By the end of July this year, ROK investors had set up 1,015 companies in the city with a total of 1.9 billion U.S. dollars

in contractual investment.

Famous ROK brands including Samsung, Daewoo, and LG, have all established subsidiaries in Tianjin.
