Hong Kong will hold a large- scale gymnastics carnival on December 5 at Kwai Chung Sports Ground, the Provisional Regional Council announced Wednesday.

The carnival is the highlight and concluding event of the millennium celebration program "Mass Gymnastics Toward an Era of Health," a spokesman for the council said.

"The carnival features a mass gymnastics performance by more than 1,000 people as well as rhythmic gymnastic and sports acrobatic performances by the Chinese Gymnastics Association," the spokesman said.

Dozens of fabulous prizes will be given out to participants in a lucky draw during the carnival, he said. Prizes include Chinese banquet and hotel accommodation. (Xinhua)
