More than 400,000 people visited a month-long exhibition on the prevention of juvenile delinquency in Beijing which ended on November 23, showing growing public concern for the healthy growth of China's younger generation.

The exhibition, composed of more than 950 photos, 60 cases of crimes committed by minors, and other displays was jointly prepared by the Commission of Comprehensive Management of Public Security under the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, the Supreme Court and other seven other central departments.

The exhibition exposed the characteristics and causes of juvenile delinquency and the damage it causes to the minors themselves as well as to society as a whole.

Due to an unsatisfying social environment, coupled with pornographic Japanese cartoon books easily available around schools and other harmful materials from the Internet, China has seen a rising crime rate among its minors.

According to organizers, most of the visitors came in organized schools groups led by school teachers and parents.
