5,000-Year Old Human Habitation Site Found in South China

Chinese archeologists have found a site of human habitation dating back to the New Stone Age some 5,000 years ago in Lingui County in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

A quantity of pottery pieces and refined stone and bone articles have been unearthed at the site, according to Fu Xianguo, head of the archeologists who excavated the area.

This discovery indicates human presence 5,000 years ago, said one archeologist, adding that the site will provide valuable materials for the studies of the environment and history of the area.
