2,500-Year-Old Site Found in South China

Chinese archeologists have found a 100,000-sq-m historical site dating back to the Warring States Period (475 B.C.-221 B.C.) in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province.

The site was discovered during construction of an urban expressway, according to one archeologist.

Many relics including pottery pieces and stone axes were unearthed at the site, the expert said.

This discovery will be valuable for the study of the city and its culture in ancient times, he added.
