China exported 6.132 billion US dollars-worth of machinery and electrical equipment in the first ten months, up 15.3 percent compared with last year's same period. The growth rate is 11 percentage points higher than the national average for the whole foreign trade sector, according to statistics of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (Moftec). Moftec officials said that after China twice raised export tax rebates this year, exports of the machinery and electrical products have risen. In October alone, such exports rose 26.5 percent on an annual basis to 7.35 billion US dollars. Meanwhile, China's imports of machinery and electrical equipment saw an annual increase of 25.8 percent to 61.58 billion US dollars. This accounts for 56 percent of the country's total industrial import. (Xinhua) |
