Chinese archeologists have discovered rare inscriptions about the military dating back to the Warring States Period (475-221 B.C.), in Hongxian County, Henan Province.

Carved on a cliff of the Yunmeng Mountain, the inscriptions cover an area of 22.75 square meters. The stone inscriptions are difficult to read due to weather corrosion. What inscriptions can be disciphered tells of military strategy and education.

This discovery provides valuable material for the study of inscription carving in the ancient China as well as the history and literature of the area.
