Foreign advisers to Guangdong Governor Lu Ruihua have suggested that Guangdong Province more actively develop its electronic information industry and turn the province into an important international production center in this sector. They gave these advices at the first annual meeting of the Guangdong Economic Development International Consultative Conference (GEDICC), which opened here today in the provincial capital. At the conference, 19 advisers or their representatives presented reports on development strategies and the influence of the global economy on the province. They said that in the coming decade China is expected to develop a major information industry. As Guangdong is a in the forefront of China's information industry, it should make further efforts to become a high-tech center providing information technology products and services to other parts of China and the world. Governor Lu said this suggestion coincides with the province's strategy of developing its high-tech industry, and that it increases their confidence. Guangdong is hosting the conference to seek the advice of foreign experts on ways to develop further. The conference will be held in Guangzhou again in November next year. |
