South Korea beat Bahrain 2-1 November 13 in the last match of Group B at the Asian soccer final qualifying round for the 2000 Olympic Games. South Korea had already qualified for the Sydney Olympics before Saturday's match against Bahrain. But they still put up a high-spirited performance, fighting back from one goal down to win the match. Bahrain scored the game's first goal at the eighth minute through Mahmood Jalal. But the South Korean team soon took over the domination of the match. Kim Eun-joong headed home a long pass from Lee Kwan-woo at the 52nd minute and Park Jin-sup slamed home a rebound after Lee Kwan- woo's shot hit the post and bounced back at the 82nd minute. |
