Afghan Taliban's supreme leader Mulla Mohammad Omar Friday condemned the rocket attacks in Islamabad, describing it as "a conspiracy to increase tension between Afghanistan, the United States and the United Nations." In a statement issued from Taliban headquarters in Kandahar, Omar said it is also a conspiracy to create damage to friendly relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan. "We are against terrorism anywhere and of any shape," he said, adding that Afghanistan has also been victim of terrorism. Islamabad was rocked by six rocket attacks on Friday morning targeting U.N. and U.S. installations, injuring four people, police said. The attacks, first of its kind in Islamabad, came two daysbefore the U.N. sanctions against Afghanistan taking effect. |
