Nine outstanding medicine experts received top national awards in the field on November 6.

The Chinese Medicine Development Awards were granted to Ji Ruyun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the other eight experts Li Lianda, Gan Zhongru, Xie Jingxi, Han Rui, Huang Fei, Sun Zengpei, Gao Qingfang and Li Bogang, each received prizes worth 10,000 yuan (1,200 US dollars).

All of these experts have made great achievements in medical research or the production of medicine.

A non-governmental organization, the Chinese Medicine Development Fund aims to promote new medicines and international exchange in the field. (Xinhua)
