Chinese archeologists have discovered a rare written account of natural disasters and war during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) in the city of Yizhou in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Painted on the cliff of Botunzhai Mountain, the history includes 300 words recording the city's major natural disasters and war activities of 130 years ago, according to one archeologist.

Many animal images such as kylin (Chinese unicorn) and horses are also painted on the rock around the text, the expert said.

This discovery will provide a valuable material for the study of the Qing Dynasty's history and literature.
