South Korea Football Association President Chung Mong-joon will visit Pyongyang on November 15 to discuss the possibility of sharing game venues of the 2002 World Cup finals.

Chung, who is also the vice-president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), will make a four-day visit to the People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Chung and the other officials of the seven-member delegation are to meet DPRK sports officials in the discussions on the subject, before the FIFA organizing committee meeting on December 5 in Tokyo.

South Korea, who will co-host the 2002 premier event with Japan, has suggested that DPRK stage some of the 32 World Cup matches assigned to South Korea. DPRK has yet to respond to the suggestion.

Chung's visit comes amid strengthened sports exchanges between Seoul and Pyongyang.

DPRK basketball teams will visit Seoul on November 22 and Seoul and Pyongyang will form a joint team for the Asian women's soccer championships to be held later this month in the Philippines.
