Chinese Officials and Public Support For Anti-Cult Resolution

Chinese procurators should play a more active role in smashing illegal activities committed by cults such as the Falun Gong, by rigorously executing laws, said Han Zhubin, Procurator-General of China's Supreme People's Procuratorate On October 31.

At a meeting held today on implementing the resolution to ban and punish cults adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress on Saturday, Han said, the resolution offers powerful legal support for procuratorates to ban cults and crack down their activities.

China's justice minister Gao Changli said in another meeting with Beijing's lawyers that those practising law should be fully conscious of the true nature of Li Hongzhi and his Falun Gong and actively fight the crimes committed by the handful of Falun Gong activitists.

Many people from all walks of life said they agree with the anti-cult decision and will fight cult activities with the help of the anti-cult resolution.

Prof. Feng Ziyi of Beijing University showed his support for the anti-cult resolution saying that banning cults will also help protect religious activities that are legal.

He Enyu, a former Falun Gong practitioner in Tianjin cited his own experience of being deceived by the Falun Gong, adding that he hopes other people will learn from his lesson and never be cheated by the evil cult.
