Chinese President Jiang Zemin said November 1 that the Chinese government supports exchanges and cooperation between cities of China and Saudi Arabia. This will enable the two countries to draw on each other's experiences in city construction, which will be conducive not only to the development of respective cities but also to further strengthening bilateral relations, Jiang said during his meeting with Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Province. Jiang spoke highly of Riyadh for its rapid development and enormous accomplishment. Jiang said though it is not long since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Saudi Arabia, the relations between the two have developed smoothly. Jiang said Saudi businessmen are welcome to invest in China, while Chinese enterprises are ready to participate in construction projects in Saudi Arabia. Salman said many experiences of China's social and economic development are worth learning by Saudi Arabia, and the development of the bilateral relations benefits both countries. Salman said the meeting between Jiang and King Fahd on Sunday showed profound friendship between the two leaders as well as the two nations, adding that the accords on further cooperation in euducation, journalism and other fields prove that the two countries enjoy close relations at all levels. Jiang said the friendship between the leaders of the two countries has given vigorous impetus to the development of bilateral relations, and he expressed the belief that his visit will lead the relations between China and Saudi Arabia to a new phase. |
