An EgyptAir plane with 217 people on board crashed at sea early Sunday off the island of Nantuchket, Massachusetts, en route from New York to Cairo, capital of Egypt, Cable News Network (CNN) reported. The latest CNN report adds three more to the total number of victims in the air crash. Initial reports said a total of 214 people were on board the missing plane. The plane was carrying 199 passengers, 15 crew members and three employees who were not working on the flight, according to EgyptAir officials. Thirty-two passengers stayed on the flight from Los Angeles. But an employee whose name was not released got off the plane in New York, company officials said. The search for survivors is under way in the wake of the EgyptAir crash, but hopes are not very high, Rear Admiral Richard Larrabee of the U.S. Coastal Guard said Sunday. |
