Kosovo Ethnic Albanians Form Provisional Government
Kosovo's ethnic Albanian delegates at the Rambouillet peace talks decided on Wednesday to form a "Kosovo provisional government" and appointed spokesman of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) Jakup Krasic as its premier- designate.
Hidajt Hiseni, vice president of the Union of Democratic Movement in the southern Serbian province of Kosovo in Yugoslavia, announced the news Friday, the Tanjug news agency reported.
Hiseni told an Albanian-language newspaper that the above decision was approved by all members of the ethnic Albanian delegation at the peace talks in France. However, the appointment of Krasic would be formally announced "after some time" as requested by Krasic himself.
The report said that KLA's political leader Adem Demaci was strongly opposed to the formation of the provisional government, deeming it illegal.
