China Reports Success of Struggle in Forest Protection ¡¡¡¡Since last year a special struggle has been launched by China to fight against all criminal activities in sabotaging the country's forest resources. ¡¡¡¡According to reports from an Inspection Group formed of personnel from the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the State Forest Administration, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Supervision, there were altogether 26,369 disruptive sabotaging cases involving 28,131 culprits that had been taken to law. The struggle to fight sabotages in damaging forest resources told that apart from 46,351 cubic meters (RMB$2.928 billion yuan worth) of timber that had been cut and over 58,305 mu of forest land that had been destroyed the country has suffered from a loss of 209,365 of wildlife. However, for hard struggles having been carried out and severe punishments meted out there has been put a complete check to wanton damages to the country's forest resources and killing of wildlife.
