Luo Gan Meets Top 10 Outstanding Female Judges
Luo Gan, secretary of the Central Political Science and Law Committee under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, met with the top 10 Outstanding Female Judges selected from candidates nationwide February 25.
Luo, who is also a member of the Political Bureau and the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, told the judges that China needs to establish a team of competent law-enforcement officers, with perfect political consciousness and professional skills, in order to improve its construction of an efficient legal system.
Luo also praised the judges for their dedication and merits in safeguarding the country's legal system.
He said that China has promulgated more than 300 laws since the country launched the reform and opening-up campaign in 1978, and basically formed a legal system that conforms to the socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics.
He said that most Chinese law-enforcement officers are competent enough in general, however, problems do exist in those serving in the political and law-enforcement departments, adding that it will be a long-term task to foster qualified staff members in those sectors.
