China Moves to Improve Computer Network Security
China is going to improve her computer network security by strengthening quality control of products that are used to protect the networks from intruders and ensure maximum safety.
As has been told by Pan Yue, deputy director of the State Administration of Quality and Technical Supervision, it is of utmost importance that we remove the danger of intrusion that will arise with the spread of computer networks such as the Internet.
China has established her own National Information Security Testing Evaluation and Certification Center, the country's first institute to conduct thorough testing on the quality and performance of products that ensure information security.
Pan stressed that quality of such products is important to guarantee the security of information networks, which are closely linked to political and financial stability.
Since its trial operation last year, the center has handled 32 application requests for quality certificates from domestic manufacturers in addition to five from the United States, France and Singapore.
