Prominent Chinese Writer Xiao Qian Dies
Xiao Qian, a famous Chinese writer and translator, died February 11 in Beijing at the age of 90 as a result of illness.
Xiao was president of the Research Institute of Culture and History of the CPC Central Committee.
A 10-volume collection of his works was recently published by the Zhejiang Art and Culture Publishing House. The 3.2-million-character collection includes most of his works covering a number of historical periods.
Xiao wrote novels, prose pieces, feature stories, essays, reminiscences, literary criticism, and letters.
