Former Khmer Rouge Forces Integrated Into RCAF

An integration ceremony was held Monday in Tasanh of Samlot in Battambang Province to reintegrate the former Khmer Rouge forces into the Royal Cambodia Armed Forces (RCAF).

Deputy Prime Minister and Co-Minister of Interior Sar Kheng presided over the ceremony. Also present were Deputy Commanders-in-Chief Lt. Gen. Pol Aaroeun and Lt. Gen. Meas Sophea.

Sar Kheng expressed his warm welcome to the reintegrated former Khmer Rouge forces. "The past fighting fields would be surely changed into an economic developing area in order to improve people's living conditions," he said.

The ceremony, organized by the Fifth Military Region, was also attended by some foreign military attaches and Cambodian and foreign journalists.
