Reception for State Council Counselors, Research Institute Members 　　A Spring Festival reception was held February 8 to honor State Council counselors and members of the CPC Central Committee's Research Institute of Culture and History. 　　Vice-Premier Wen Jiabao, a member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, conveyed greetings and good wishes on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to those present. 　　He said that the central government has placed emphasis on the two departments' work. He expressed his hope that the counselors and others working on culture and history give more advice on China's modernization and contribute more to both material civilization and cultural and ethical progress and the reunification of the motherland. 　　The reception was held by the General Office of the State Council and the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee. 　　Also present were Buhe, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, State Councilor Wang Zhongyu, and Li Guixian, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. 　　 HomeNews 1999-02-09 Page4 Full Story in Chinese
