Twenty years ago, the surging tide of reform and opening-up broke the tranquility of Shekou Bay in the small fishing port town of Shenzhen. Today, enjoying economic prosperity and having a forest of tall buildings and a picturesque scenery, Shenzhen's Shekou has become one of the important areas in China's coastal open cities.
