Poor Shenzhen Village Gets Prosperous 　　Bantian is a poor village in Shenzhen. The village leadership decided to turn over a new leaf for the village in l986. 　　An industry city was planned on 5 sq km and an industrial area was set to be built first east of the industry city. Upon completion of the first industrial area, the second and third ones followed. So far 160 workshops have been completed to have absorbed 4.2 billion yuan in funding from home and abroad with investors coming from Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and the U.S. 　　On the eve of the Spring Festival, a new factory building for churning out program-controlled exchanges has been completed 　　In 1998, the industrial and farming output value totaled 380 million yuan, net income stood at 78 million yuan, per capita income 16500 yuan, taxes 65 million yuan. 92 million forex in HK$ was earned through export. The total assets owned by the village amount to 1.2 billion . 　　With its success in material gains, the village has set to improve its ethical sector.
