Closedown of All Illegal Small-Sized Coal Mines Demanded

ĦĦĦĦA national meeting on TV is called today by the State Economic and Trade Commission in Beijing. As is reported from the meeting, all illegal small-sized coal mines given no licenses to open, including those of substandard ones run in and outside the areas of state-run coal fields, will have to be closed. According to Vice Minister Shi Wanpeng of the State Economic and Trade Commission, there are already 8845 small-sized coal mines that have been shut down throughout China but further reductions have to be made in the country's coal production. For a newly planned cut of 250 million tons China's coal production will be reduced to an annual total of 1.1 billion tons.
