Chinese and Foreign Correspondents Welcomed to Cover NPC & CPPCC Sessions ĦĦĦĦThe Second Session of the Ninth National People's Congress and the Second Session of the Ninth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will be held in Beijing respectively on March 5 and March 3, 1999. Chinese and foreign correspondents are welcomed to cover the two sessions, announced February 4 by the General Office of the NPC Standing Committee and the General Office of the National Committee of the CPPCC. ĦĦĦĦFor those who want to cover the two sessions, correspondents with central news units may apply to the conference news center; correspondents coming with local delegations apply to the conference news center; correspondents from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) apply to the Hong Kong Branch of Xinhua News Agency; foreign correspondents residing in China apply to the conference news center. For those on temporary coverage mission, Taiwan correspondents should apply to the Office of Taiwan Affairs of the State Council; Macao correspondents apply to the Macao Branch of Xinhua News Agency; foreign correspondents apply to Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, to foreign ministry's special commissioner office in Hong Kong, the Macao Branch of Xinhua News Agency and the Macao visa-granting office.
