Chinese Vice-President Continues Tour in Cote d'Ivoire

Chinese Vice-President Hu Jintao ended his visit in Abidjan Saturday morning and left for Yamoussoukro to continue his three-day official visit in Cote d'ivoire.

Before he left, Cote d'Ivoire Prime Minister Daniel Kablan Duncan presided over a ceremony to see Hu off at the airport.

After his arrival in Yamoussoukro, Hu paid tribute to and laid a wreath in front of the tomb of late president Felix Houphouet-Boigny of Cote d'Ivoire.

The Chinese vice-president started his official visit in Cote d'Ivoire Thursday.

After the Cote d'Ivoire tour ends on January 31, he will proceed to South Africa, the last leg of his current 13-day four-nation African tour, which will end on February 4.

*China will continue to explore new ways and areas of cooperation with the group of the African Development Bank to promote bilateral friendly ties, Vice-President Hu Jintao said Friday in a meeting with President Omar Kabbaj of the African Development Bank in Abidjan.

The group, as an important regional financial institution, has made important contributions to the African economic development and social development for many years, he said.

Kabbaj said the group has a very good relationship with China and it very much appreciates China's efforts not to devalue its currency and to maintain forceful cooperation with his bank.
