India and China Should Keep Friendly Relations

India and China should keep friendly relations and dialogs, which is very important to the development of the two countries' relationship, Indian President K. R. Narayanan told former Chinese Ambassador Cheng Ruisheng to India.

China and India have the tradition of long-term friendly communications and pose no threat to each other, Narayanan said, adding that a flourish and strong China is a great support to India and other developing countries and is extremely important to world peace.

Narayanan also hoped the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
