French Hopes to Develop Relations With China
����French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine sent a letter to his Chinese counterpart Tang Jiaxuan on Wednesday to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and China.
����Vedrine said in the letter that on the eve of the 21st century, France and China have established a comprehensive partnership which is aimed at working together to build a more secure and just world order.
����`` As permanent members of the UN Security Council, we have intensified our cooperation during the past several years through increased political consultation on the most sensitive world questions,'' said the foreign minister.
����He said that French-Chinese relations were expanded during the exchange of visits between the two prime ministers.
����He expressed his wish that France and China can work together to help maintain international security and contribute to the emergence of a more harmonious, open and diverse world.
