Hu Jintao Meets Ghanaian Parliament Speaker and Leader of Ghana's Women Organization

����The Chinese National People's Congress (NPC) and the Ghanaian parliament have played a positive role in promoting bilateral state-to-state ties, Chinese Vice-President Hu Jintao said in Accra Thursday.

����Hu said this at a meeting with Ghanaian Parliament Speaker Daniel Annan which took place shortly before he ended a three-day official visit to this nation and left for Cote d'Ivoire to continue his 13-day four-nation African tour.

����* Chinese Vice-President Hu Jintao Thursday met in Accra with Nan Kunadu Agyeman-Rawlings, president of December 31 Women's Movement and Ghana's first lady.

����Hu said that the friendly exchange and cooperation between Chinese and Ghanaian women is an important part of the friendly relations between the two countries. He noted that the Chinese government has always paid attention to the role played by women and taken a set of policies to safeguard women's equal status and rights in the fields of politics, economy and social life.
