Primakov: Russia-China Cooperation Good to World Stability
Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov said in Moscow Tuesday that active cooperation between Russia and China is conducive to world stability.
Addressing the second session of the Sino-Russian Committee for Friendship, Peace and Development, Primakov said both countries are proponents of a multipolar world and against hegemonism, dictator and use of force in international relations.
He said that as a result of common efforts, the two sides have removed a series of obstacles such as border issues and cut their military presence along their borders, bringing bilateral ties to a new high at the end of the 20th century.
Primakov expressed the belief that Russia and China will keep their partnership in the next century.
He noted the bright prospects in major oil and natural gas pipeline projects.
Primakov said Russia hopes to change the situation whereby bilateral economic relations lag behind political ties.
