Chinese Vice-President Meets Ghanaian Counterpart

����China sincerely hopes that African countries will solve their disputes in the spirit of unity, consultation and peaceful means, and make concerted efforts for peace and stability in the continent, visiting Chinese Vice-President Hu Jintao said in Accra Wednesday.

����Hu made the remarks Wednesday when he held talks with Ghanaian Vice-President John Evans Attah Mills.

����China has gradually reformed its ways of external aid with its focus on providing interest-discounted preferential loans to recipient countries, Hu said.

����He said that the loans are mainly used to benefit the joint ventures and cooperative firms to run manufacturing projects that have resources, markets and rewarding, with the aim to explore new cooperation areas, expand the cooperation scope and improve efficiency, and realize common development.

����Both sides have all along supported and cooperated with each other in international affairs, he said, adding he thanked Ghana for adhering to the "one China" policy, having no official contact with Taiwan and support China's reunification cause.

����After the talks, Hu attended a signing ceremony on two documents: a framework agreement on China's supply of preferential loans to Ghana, and an exchange of letter that China offers materials assistance to Ghana.
