Civilians Injured in US-British Bombings

����An Iraqi woman looks after her child who was injured in the US-British attack on Basra. 11 people have been killed and 59 were injured during the air raid on January 25.

����Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has claimed compensation for those residents in the southern province of Basra whose houses and properties were destroyed by Monday's US air strikes.

����US and British warplanes bombed a number of densely populated districts of Abu Flous, al-Khaseeb sub-district, Basra Airport and the northern Rumaila field in Basra on Monday morning.

����*In a statement issued January 26, the Arab League expressed its deep regret over the US-British air strike against south Iraqi Province of Basra.

����On January 25, Deputy Speaker Mikhail Gutseriev of the Russian State Duma condemned US air raids on the Iraqi city of Basra as "utterly inadmissible and unacceptable."
