Civilians Injured in US-British Bombings
An Iraqi woman looks after her child who was injured in the US-British attack on Basra. 11 people have been killed and 59 were injured during the air raid on January 25.
Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has claimed compensation for those residents in the southern province of Basra whose houses and properties were destroyed by Monday's US air strikes.
US and British warplanes bombed a number of densely populated districts of Abu Flous, al-Khaseeb sub-district, Basra Airport and the northern Rumaila field in Basra on Monday morning.
*In a statement issued January 26, the Arab League expressed its deep regret over the US-British air strike against south Iraqi Province of Basra.
On January 25, Deputy Speaker Mikhail Gutseriev of the Russian State Duma condemned US air raids on the Iraqi city of Basra as "utterly inadmissible and unacceptable."
