Quality Stressed in Xi'an-Ankang Railway Construction
ˇˇˇˇCutting through the Qinling Mountain Range and Bashan Mountains is the Xi'an-Ankang being constructed in China today. A major railway line of China, 268 kilometers long, it starts from Xinfeng Township on the north of Xi'an to Ankang City in the south. As is reported from departments concerned, complete quality construction is demanded for all projects to be built. According to design, it is to be constructed to link up the Baotou-Xi'an Railway in the north and the Xiangfan-Chongqing, Pingguan-Ankang and Baoji-Chengdu railways in the south, operating as a major passage to connect north China and northwest China with southwest China. Tunnels and bridges being cut and built on the line will have a combined distance of 160 kilometers or 60% of the whole line under construction.
