Overseas Chinese Hold Forums in Bonn, Tokyo

Picture shows that Mr. Ye Kai, a 70-year-old Taiwan compatriot, who has been living in Germany for 40 years, delivered a speech at a forum held January 25 by overseas Chinese in Bonn to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the publication of President Jiang Zemin's speech entitled "Continuing to Strive for the Accomplishment of the Great Cause of Reunification of the Motherland" and the 20th anniversary of the publication of "the NPC Standing Committee's Message to Compatriots in Taiwan".

Attendees called for realizing the reunification of the motherland as early as possible.

Overseas Chinese, no matter where they come, from the mainland or Taiwan, should further unite to make their contribution to the great cause of reunification of China, Li Fuquan, executive vice-chairman of All-Germany Federation of Overseas Chinese, said at the forum.

The attendees strongly condemned those who advocate "Taiwan's Independence", and vowed never to support such activities.

*On January 26, overseas Chinese in Tokyo also held a similar forum.

The Taiwan Compatriots in Japan will firmly support the policies of "peaceful reunification" and "one country, two systems", which have been proved by history to be the magic weapon for realizing the reunification of the motherland, the attendees said.
