����*China Boasts Over 2,700 Hot Springs

����There are at least 2,726 hot springs with temperatures above 25 degrees C in China, according to statistics from the Ministry of Land and Resources.

����Investigations indicate that most of the high-temperature hot springs are in Tibet, Yunnan, Sichuan, and Taiwan.

����An official with the ministry said that among 86 high temperature hot springs in China, over 44 are located in western Tibet, and that Tibet has established several large geothermal power stations.

����China also has many hot springs with moderate and lower temperatures located in more than 20 provinces including Guangdong and Fujian, and at the cities of Beijing and Tianjin.

����China expects to introduce more funds into the development of geothermal resources at lower temperatures, which can be used for central heating in urban areas and for the breeding of rare fish species.

����*More than 60, 000 volunteers have gotten ready to serve the tourists during the World Horticulture Exposition to be held in Kunming, Yunnan Province. Their work includes meeting and seeing off the tourists, translation, cleaning the exhibition halls, beautifying surroundings, keeping good order, emergency aids and helping the disabled. They are expected to give 350,000 hours unpaid aid.
